Actually, the last time I took my car there (Sears), the guy was talking about another shop, up the road, that is going up for sale. He would really like to buy it, and hire his partner, but the killer is, he doesn't have $$$ to buy the place.

I've used the guy who is selling his place, but he's old, and I don't think he's the best when working on newer vehicles. Give him a 67 Dodge Coronet and he'd be fine. New computerized stuff is beyond his scope. Probably one of the reasons he is selling.

Oh, and to get back on track with the thread:

I re-gapped the plugs in my '06. They were at about .080, and I set them to .040. The REASON I did it, is because when part way warmed, the car stutters, and threatens to stall. Changing the plug gaps didn't help.

Finally the MIL came on, but the key dance didn't show any codes. I got my reader out, and it shows a P0132: O2 sensor voltage high. O2B1S2. However, the diagnostic code itself states O2 Sensor Voltage 1, Sensor 1.

SO my question: WHICH sensor needs to be looked at or replaced? Upstream or Downstream????

I agree... upstream. Check wiring to that sensor too. Sensors only last about 50,000 miles then start flaking out. Upstream is the main sensor for fuel mix

Sorry I'm going to have to Disagree...
.
Disclamer : I do not currently own a PT Cruiser .....W
.
The Upstream sensor would be a air /fuel sensor
the down stream would be the O2 Sensor
The Pt cruier Like The Densco / not Bosch sensor
.
Spark plugs,Fuel injectors, IAC, coil packs, cam sensor, and Or Mag pick up on the end of the Cam.? crank sensor,
........................................ we could be at this for weeks and Much money............

My gut is telling me your ECM has a Burnt Driver inside and is faulty....and sure you can drive your car now and for a while.
............ bandaid after flustrating bandaid
sooner later you will see no mater how many or what type of sensor's you put in
the car will still run crapy with intermitten codes....
.
There is a silver lining tho........
Get a good ECM and whom ever flashes it can turn off some of the Nussense like the (SKIM) inlet air sensor, power steering pressure sensor and a few other no critical
sensors

There is a Member here (Up North) that can do what you need in the way of a good ECM and a proper custom Tune
.

If you answered “yes” then parts car is a really good idea.

Wife and I took the convert to Woodward Avenue to do some cruising, lots of cool cars out already. Also, a bunch of car shows in the area a precursor to the big event next Saturday.... Woodward Dream Cruise, the biggest car show (and traffic jam) in the US. Drove up to Pontiac for the Road Kill Nights sponsored by Dodge for on Woodward legal drag racing... HOLY HOLE SHOTS BATMAN, UN-FLIPPIN BELIEVABLE.

Started rust proofing it. Removed the plastic on the sills in front which will get me into the outer part, i guess if i drill the holes on the inside a little bigger after removing the plastic seats for the fasterners i can get to the inner part. Now how do you get any rustproofing into the rear by the rear doors as there's no plastic cover with holes. Do you drill holes of your own or how have you done it?

Might have made mine jealous last night. I was driving the stepdaughter home from work and HAD TO STOP and take a look...
2005 base convertible w/99k miles, due for timing belt unless they have documented proof it's been done. The $4k asking price might be a bit much but it's one of my favorite colors. The tires appear to be the original Goodyear's and would have to be replaced soon, but I don't think I would do much foul weather driving in this one...
BTW, what's the link for the VIN check for Chrysler? I want to see what this originally came with. I've used it before but having trouble finding it in the forums...

Here:

https://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.html

In the left-hand column under YOUR VEHICLE > Equipment Listing

Then enter the VIN in the white box in the middle of the page, then click the red Search box.
