Yesterday I filled FIREBALL up with gas at lunchtime knowing that last night the weather was supposed to turn for the worse.

I put him away in the garage, probably for the winter now. The weather went from a nice sunny day in the 50s and changed to high winds with rain and then snow overnight. We ended up with about a half-inch of snow, and right now at lunch time, the temp is 23F and dropping. Pretty windy out with a wind chill of 9F.

The road crews and sanders and salt trucks were out and even the parking lot at work is salted. So much for that. Went from summer-like weather last week to this.

And to top it off, on the way in I discovered that the low-speeds on my ventilation system in my Dodge Stratus don't work. It's full-blast or nothing.

Time to put the snow tires on The RATMOBILE, and change the oil in FIREBALL, wash him and cover him up for winter.

Man, oh man! I am jealous.

I've been waiting for my Borla exhaust salvage yard find for years and it's never happened. I must not be living right.

Same here.... the silver gal is all bundled away for the winter. Covered her in thick moving blankets and a piece of blue tarp on the cement below. Threw in some dryer sheets in the trunk, interior, under hood and below the car to rid off any critters that might want to make a home. Gave her a kiss good night.......... wife just looked at me and rolled her eyes. My Christmas list is a custom fit cover....

Man I saw that exhaust hanging down and seen someone tried to get it off with no luck. I had my handy battery powered sawzall with carbide blade and within minutes the Borla was MINE... woo hoo. Have to buy some new stainless band clamps and ready to install. Cleaned the stainless with vinegar backing soda and lemon juice and pretty clean. Sure the system was on the junker for many years but 304 stainless (non magnetic) really holds up.

Cool Re: What did you do to your PT today?

I have had the Borla single tip exhaust on my car for about 100,000 miles it still looks like new and I think sounds great!

Installing the clamps tomorrow and will take picts to post while up in the air and on the ground. CAN'T wait to hear the gal rumble. SE Michigan high was 27 flippin degrees... thank God for a heated (sort of) garage... Total cost for the Borla rear half and paint and 2 clamps $45. I painted the pipes to help hide and preserve them with VHT ceramic header paint.. black of course.

Today I got some cool stuff for my Vert. This is a complete ground-effects set for a PT and it's already painted PS2 Silver. I also snagged an aluminum turbo intake manifold and a few other little odds and ends. Total with tax was right at $115.

The ground effects kit set is for a 1st Gen PT. So the pieces that go under the front and back bumpers will need to be modified if I use them. However, it looks pretty good just with the side pieces. I just stuck this on to get an idea. Lots of cleanup and a little paint work before the final fit.

I left the photo a little larger so you can see it better.

Looks really nice. I also like the spoiler on the back. In fact, I like the whole
car.
