And....of course.....let it run a while or drive to blow off the water.
You can always use compressed air for this. To me it's just too much trouble to pull out the compressor hose. I'd rather drive like an idiot! ![]()

You know that PT owner you sort of Cringe a bit about. THat/s ME..
SO lets begin with what I did the last 3 days-ish.. 1. took out center console...THe brute force way. *1 2. CLeaned the center console (plastic part and cup holders) ----BEFORE I go NAY FURTHER... ![]() Why did I do this? CUS.. THis time... REVERSE gave out. The shifter said bye bye. It was actually 2 problems. Well, remember when I fixed the one under the hood? Well. It seems the other one has been gone too. I just did not see it. So back to the DOrman kit. I found the other bushings. (Why does it not come with Circ Clips in the kit?) So these other 2 were so much easier to put in. They were not hard plastic like the other one. So it was just some boiling water, in the microwave and a cup and it just popped right in! SUPER.. Well that was the one underneath the hood. It was the soft rubber one. SOOOOO glad I went to Hazard Fraught, and picked up the big box of ramdom "C" clips. You know the one that you hang on a nail in the garage and hope YEARS down the road you will use more then just the 1 and few you lost? ![]() So I Found a way to get them on using a SOcket (in my case, 8mm and 9mm) and then pushed it on there. I removed the Fuse box holder, or rather unbolted the 2 10mm bolts, and just moved it out of the way. DOne. So here I was thinking ALL was fine!.. No... Not at all. ![]() So after I get some coffee from up the street come home and reverse also no longer works. Dratz! Get my tools and thinking it had come undone from under the hood. . No.. It was fine. So I go inside the cabin, and sure enough, after pulling the middle console..(the only way I have ever done it... (Yes friends, I DID once take it out and put it back on WITHOUT THE TRICK ON THE Parking Brake....) There I see something that Resembles RUBBER.. There was so little of the bushing left, it was like scraps of Pencil shavings... So, I go back to the kit, push the rubber grommet out of the one that is inside the plastic housing in the kit... then install that one on there. Now... Why does the "c" clip fit so LOOSE? So I put 2 of them on there.. (I should of just purchased the Booger Bushing Kit... ![]() Anyways.. SO I got it on there and the Shifter has NEVER felt better! SO.. THe NEXT DAY... I try to put the cover back on. Yea. This time.. I go look online how to do that. Well. After Removing the cables from the parking brake... I could not get them back on. Another hour on Google, And NO ONE has made a video on how to do that. Since I got my Youtube channel taken down? Meh.. I might upload to Bitchute one day on how to do it. BUT there is this small lever under the PT parking brake handle that allows you to pull the cable back so that you can attach it to the other cables "Fork". So After I did all that? I was able to get it on there! And I was able to get my coffee, and smokes. Even bought some dude some Food. Got 2 hot dogs without a bun for me, and NOW.. Back home on my chromebook in my Minivan enjoying typing this very post. (something I ALSO just ordered parts for and had to fix After the Power port Melted! ) I was going to put on the other tires, but the wait was so long... I just left. Other then that, I still have to install my lighting kit, and fix my fog light wiring. I know I have a Whole extra spare harness and can't find the darn thing. I also need to replace the weak battery.. But since it was my fault for letting it drain to 8 volts, well. That's not really walmarts problem. Sure its under warranty, but I just don't like the idea of messing something up, and then taking it back. Not cool in my book. I will just use it as a core when I need to. And I STILL have to replace the Power plug in the middle console. I think I have like 3 of them around here.. I just NEVER get around to finding them and installing them before i misplace them. Other then that.. ONE DAY.. I will get it ALL fixed.. ONE DAY.. ONE DAY..

Yes, the "by the book" install fees are crap. But, at least I know that I am getting a quality part; and saving $$ on that part!

Caught the left hand sill (rocker) panel a nasty one on a new high kerb, it'll have to wait for hot and dry unfortunately.
I've now ordered a paintless dent removal kit as it's fixable without welding. What a pain! |

Replaced the spark plugs and wires yesterday (Sunday). The replacement engine is fairly low miles but looks like they were never changed, even though the oil and antifreeze appeared to be changed regularly. The wires were stamped with a 2004 build year and the copper Champion plugs had a gap of at least .085, my gapping tool only goes to .080 and the gap was bigger than that!!!! It ran pretty good before, surprisingly, but now idles much smoother and the engine doesn't struggle as much when the cooling fan kicks on while idling....

After 11 years of driving two different cruisers, I find my driveway void of a PT. I ended up trading in my 03 GT with 141K miles for something more economical on gas and on 87 octane. But I can definitely see me attaining my third cruiser as I really liked leaving the rear seats removed and hauling stuff in a car that you really did not mind if it got dirty inside (not like a new car).
So, its been fun, but until I get my third PT I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas!
