Today me and my PT ran some errands. Some of our other PT brothers and sisters seemed to be doing same.

We also dropped off some clothes and stuff at Good Will.

It was another great day to be cruising in a PT.

Installed the new Cam Position Sensor in The RATMOBILE today. Took him for a spin. All seems well.

Finally got around to hitting up the junk yard today. I always like to scope out what's there. Surprised that there were not too many Cruisers there.

I've been wanting to try adding a "step pad" to FIREBALL and I always thought that one off of a Dodge Caravan or Chrylser T&C would look and fit right. I don't like the one that they made to fit the Gen I Cruisers. I just never liked the style and the pattern on them.

So I grabbed a few different ones to try. A 2010 T&C (wanted one with the Chrome trim but for some reason the rear bumpers on the new vans are almost always missing ???), a 2004 T&C and a 2001 Dodge Ramcharger.

Here's what they look like when test fitting:

2010 T&C

2001 Dodge

2004 T&C

I'm surprised at how large the 2010 is, and how disappointed I am in the style. Looks like some sidewalk tread. *bleh*

The Dodge needed to be cut down. So I cut it, and also knocked off the retaining studs from it and the 2004 T&C. I thought I would have to do a lot of cutting, but it turns out that a sharp rap with a hammer breaks them right off. If not, just score with a utility knife, and then use the hammer.

2004 T&C:

I'm leaning toward the 2004 T&C. I asked my Daughter who is a Graphic Designer, and she immediately chose the 2004 T&C.

Hmmm. I still wish I could find a newer T&C with the chrome edge, but then, it's too wide, and I'm not sure how I would cut it down and have it look good.

Hmmm.

You guys have any opinions?

I replaced the front sway bar bushings, endlinks and right side tie rod end. The tie rod end was a real pain, I had to heat it up several times with the torch to get the old one off. Then, I broke 2 bolts for the sway bar bushings, no surprise. I had the same thing happen on my old 03. My arms are sore as can be from drilling the bolts out. The front feels much better and is way quieter. Now to order a left rear lateral link since the end is bad.

I gotta say.....dang, I really love that hood. I may have to fab up a ram air style hood. Maybe just for looks and make it non functional. Or, maybe functional¿....dunno, but I do have some ideas floating around in my noggin’
