My Dad had 6x-bypass when he was 65. He is 90 now, and still doing fine...

I am very glad you are back behind the wheel. And remember that slightly younger men such as myself are looking to guys like you as our example of how to live out this life right. So live long and boldly, my friend, because we are watching and learning.

Noticed increasingly loud and annoying creaking sounds coming from the front suspension as it flexed. Replacing the front sway bar bushings made a huge improvement. This was about the third time they have been replaced in 90K miles. It seems that the least little bit of play in the bushings will make for all kinds of clunking and creaking sounds from the front suspension.
Make sure to measure the front sway bar before ordering replacement bushings... mine were 24mm... YMMV. Also, put some anti-seize on the bolts when reinstalling them to make for easier removal next time.

Need to drop the fuel tank for some plumbing repairs. Spent the entire morning just getting the rusted tank strap bolts out. Life for a car guy in the rust belt can be miserable. Was tempted but didn't dare use the impact to remove the bolts. Snap off the bolt(s) and would need to spend additional hours drilling out and tapping.

Back and forth, back and forth with lots of penetrant tediously gaining about half a turn at a time. The driver side bolt was the worst as it was conveniently located above the exhaust pipe. Removing the rubber hangers at either end of the muffler provided for enough flex in the exhaust system to allow a straight shot at the strap bolt.

FWIW, the bolts are 10 x 1.5 mm with 15mm head and are about 40mm long (felt like 40 feet).
Anyway, that was enough for me for today. Looks like this job will be done in stages, too
much for an all day-all night thrash at my age.

Well, back looking at the fuel tank job today.

Anyway, need to replace the evap canister and leak detect pump.
However the bracket that holds them is badly rusted. It seems that no replacement is available anywhere (that is another whole story).

Also got some new tank straps. The old ones are rusted... not horrible but just seemed to make sense installing new ones when that time comes. The new ones came bare metal so primed and painted them.

Otherwise, the project is on hold while some more searching for a suitable bracket.

SOOO BIG'S rear washer nozzle wasn't getting fluid because of a crimp in the hose behind the hood release lever panel.
Apparently it was pinched during Mexican factory assembly. Hecho en Mexico
The hose wasn't moved out of the way of a mounting clip when panel was first installed, which should be SOP.
After cutting the crimp out of the hose I inserted a connector.
The rear washer nozzle now functions better than ever.
For years I did get moderate use of the rear washer nozzle but just lately the hose stopped delivering fluid to the rear washer nozzle.
I understand that SOOO BIG isn't the only PT that has this misfunction. Case solved.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed suggestions helping me figure this out.

Crimp in hose.

Rear washer nozzle now works.
