SOOO BIG's new look.
Bumpers, right fender and hood repainted and buffed.
Balance of finish was restored with Clay-Bar.
New 5 piece bumper trim chrome installed.
Replaced 3/8" belt trim and rear hatch emblems.
Chrome bumper pieces from WCSUPLIERS were below wholesale on closeout.
Other suppliers were asking a lot more, but they're fazing out their PT stuff.
Front/rear bumper inserts, $79.95 #31290155934
Rear bumper center piece, $64.95 #313144465373
Couldn't resist at this price. Excellent fit. Great look.

Got around to my other MOT bits today, a pair of lower arms and both of the track rods at the ends of the rack. Originals so no flats for easy removal with a spanner - had to weld the inner ball joint together, refit the track rod end lock nut, weld it on and remove from that point with a deep 23mm socket. New ones have flats for future removal but what a PIA although I didn't even break the anti roll bar links as I copper greased them last time.

Tracking first, then the MOT again.

Aubrey successfully reinstalled the 3/8" hood chrome belt trim aligned with bottom edge of hood.
It now clears the front hood emblem.
That was to be the last work on SOOO BIG.

Unfortunately While still in the shop the starter failed so we had to sit it out at Aubrey's over the weekend.
IMG-20210111-0.jpgIMG-202101.jpg
With my USAA Road Side Assistance I arranged a flat bed pick up this morning to transport SOOO BIG across
town to have a new starter installed. Will finish Tuesday.

No matter what, these little hic-ups sure beat monthly payments on a new car that wouldn't be as much fun to
drive as SOOO BIG.

Very nice, what about the grill is it just painted silver or is it some chrome added?

It's an after market upper and lower chrome grill set with wider cross bars than the originals. This set gives the earlier PTs, even those with
the original factory chrome grill, a unique look.
SOOO BIG'S original factory chrome grill had been damaged. I installed a standard grill and my son Steve gave me the first after market
chrome grill set he'd had on his PT.
Unfortunately, over the years a few of the retaining tabs failed, the adhesion of the 3m retaining strips weakened and the lower grill fell off.
Needing a replacement, at quite a savings I acquired an NOS set from another PTer. They're still available on ebay. (see attached ebay add)
To prevent that from happening again, I secured the grills with hex head screws.
As a back up I still have the NOS after market upper grill from that set.
