If you have a hand pump, you can open the radiator cap and pump out as much as possible (it will only be about 1/4 liter).

Then all you need to do is disconnect the hose at the top of the radiator and get it out of the way. You'll spill only a small trickle from there because most of the hose is now empty. Then simply bend the hose upward. Now you can remove the cooling fan.

This video shows how to remove it fairly quickly by removing the grille and radiator bracket. If you drain the top hose with the hand pump, you won't spill as much fluid as he does.

There should be a plastic push pin, or maybe 2, on the bottom, maybe yours are missing and that's causing the sagging?

Reevaluating my Pt Cruiser passion

My 05 (Turbo lite) needs a Headgasket.
Parts are cheep
my estamate time to ux the head 30hrs
How far should i go.?
Rings,Valves,Seals
on a Cruiser with 190,000 on the clock
Probably not a smart move to fix with that milage and transaxle starting to actup(clunking in shift)
I'll have to think about it.......

If you answered “yes” then parts car is a really good idea.

Got my Street Cruiser through the UK MOT annual safety check last Wednesday afternoon, with two advisories- front indicator bulbs losing their amber coating slightly and rear bushes on front lower control arms peeling slightly away at the edges but not yet causing any freeplay. Today took this photo, all the 5s :

Installed new hood support struts on the red one. An easy 20 minute job -- it only took me 40 minutes....

My 04 (Turbo Lite) needed a headgasket when I bought it for cheap. But I only did the top end. My thought was if it serves me well for the next 100k miles then I will be happy and then sell it for cheap.
