After two months and about $600-$700 lighter my $100 Cruiser project is finally ready for the street!!!
Took some doing just to get the new lower control arm installed, It looks like a previous owner may have tweaked the front of the cradle (ditch, parking curb, who knows?) making it near impossible to get the bolt back in. I enlarged the front hole with a Dremel just enough so I could move the control arm enough to get the new bolt (9/16-14 x 4 in. grade 8 with washers) through.
I still have a few things I want to fix on this car, but the major mechanical work appears to be done, for now and can't wait to start driving it!!!

Interesting, no gas struts on my 2003 Exportversion, did all in the US have these or is it the ones from 2006-??

They didn't come from the factory with struts, to my knowledge.

Yeah they never came from the factory with the hood struts but they should have come from the factory with them.

Always the first thing I put on a PT Cruiser for me or for a friend.

Yup these should have come from the factory, but never did. A couple of aftermarket companies used to supply these kits. Now I believe the one in the ebay auction, made by Clark&Clark, are the only kits available, and the best ones anyway.

I have one of those, but removed it after a few months...it kept coming loose.
I have the Blue Glow Ball.
