Default Lower Control Arm Bushing are Toast. Common?

Hello All,
I have an '06 Cruiser GT 5spd. with 76,000 miles on it. The lower control arm bushing are cracked and appear to be shot. They make noise going over a speed bump or bump in the road. Like a crunching sound roughly. We jacked up the front of the car and the wheels did seem to have minor play in them. Does sound right? This PT spent a good chunk of it's early life being towed around by an RV Camper. Anywhere else you would look or things you would look for? Thank you in advance for any and all opinions. Thank you for the family of PT people's help!

Bryan

The lower control arm bushings were a bit problematic. I believe Moog Problem Solver control arms are popular. They're ~$80 each at Rock Auto. I installed a set on my '01 Cruiser a few years ago. It's not a difficult job. Get an alignment afterwards as the toe in may be affected. Replacing the entire control arm makes the job easier and you get two new bushings and the ball joint at the same time. Oh, and get sway bar links at the same time (again, Moog Problem Solvers) as they have to be removed to replace the control arms.

very common with PT's.. I did mine a few months ago, I surfed the web and find a pair new, loaded with bushings and ball joint for $66.00 for the pair and free shipping.. I would surf the web for prices, also check Ebay, bought a set for my Sebring on there, but you won't want to try to replace the bushings in the old ones, it was a lost cause for me

very common on pt's.. I bought a pair new loaded with bushings and ball joints, from E bay.. I have seen the kits there recently, they have the control arms, loaded and the inner & outer tie rods for less than $100 bucks with free shipping..
