Default OEM CD/Radio to Ignition Switch problem

Gremlins on my 2004 GT High Output Turbo with stock radio/6 cd player. Infrequently the radio will not turn on or if on, no display. Jiggle the ignition key and it will come on and the display will light up.

Assume it is a loose wire at the ignition switch. Any advice on how to correct this??
How hard is it to work on the switch and what wire and markings will it be. I have no wiring diagrams.

Many thanks
Harry

Here is the wiring information for the ignition-switched circuit to the radio

Ignition switch connector pin #2, black/white wire to dash fuse block
Yellow/red wire from fuse Fuse #14 (20 amp) to radio (their is a splice)
At the radio connector pin #2, the wire color is red/white (changed at splice)

If the ignition switch is the problem, your front and rear wipers should also not work when the radio doesn't; the black/white wire to dash fuse block feeds both fuse #14 and fuse #15(wipers)

The ignition switch can be removed and disassembled and cleaned up
I had a tutorial on the forum until the vandals sacked the system and my library was lost

Yep, same thing with me.
Looking for a permanent fix.
Anyone have any ideas before I install my new Crutchfield Pioneer harness?
Gotta be a problem/connection at the switch.
Thanks
Harry

On my 03 GT, I could get mine to function correctly by jiggling the tilt mechanism on the steering wheel. I put a zip tie around the connector that runs from the wheel to the radio and that fixed mine. I THINK it was the top one on the left, but not 100% sure. You'll need a schematic to look at to make sure you get the right one. I no longer have the GT to go look at.
