comPuTer, the Michilin HydroEdge are also directional, does that make them slightly performance rated? [:I]

smfrycruzr,
I would say yes. The HydroEdge is the top of the line and has an excellent rating in almost every category. |

Was just checking out the forum for comments about Goodyear tires. The rear passenger tire on my Cruiser developed a slow leak about a week ago - - only 8000 km on it!!!! Since my schedule has been busy, I've just been keeping an eye on it and topping up the air every other day until I can get it looked after. One day the pressure didn't change at all after I put air in it.
The front passenger tire looks a little soft too, so I've been keeping an eye on it and have had to put air in it once or twice in the last week. Then tonight, when I went to put air in the rear tire, I notice the driver's front tire looks low. When I checked it, the pressure was 25 psi. So, have I run over a bunch of nails or something or is it the tires? Whaddya think? I've had flats before, but this time it seems contagious!

Simply put, the Goodyear RS-A's are a bad choice for tires (OEM or aftermarket). My Strat R/T came stock with the RS-A's and I found myself adding air every week. The sidewalls are weak and they barely had any traction in rainy conditions. I replaced them with Hankook K104's (Summer Tire)on the Strat before selling the car, and I now have FALKEN Ziex ZE512 (All Season tire) on the PT. Both sets perform great and stick to the road in both dry and wet conditions.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
Mopar should not have stuck the PT with such lousy tires. Here is my review of the Badyear's on epinions http://www.epinions.com/content_94534143620 I got rid of my Badyears 18 months ago... and don't miss them. Here is my epinions review of what I replaced them with: ContiExtremeContacts: http://www.epinions.com/content_122867584644 (not shilling, just sharing my experience)

A month ago (8500 miles), I replaced my Goodyear LS 205x55x16s with Yokohama AVID H4s (205x60x16). I didn't have any problems, but from reading these posts, I also didn't have any confidence in the Goodyears. The new tires are quieter, smoother, stick better, and look better. In addition the Yokohama's are rated to 130 mph.

saying it was the Tires, and Badyear saying it was the alignment! So, picked up a set of Michelin Hydro Edge tires as well- man, what an improvement! I recently purchased a new 2004 GT but could not keep my old Michelins due to the tire size difference. So, got stuck with badyears on the new GT and as expected, they suck! Cannot wait to wear them out and get the Michelins again!

The steering wheel on my GT sometimes shakes, an inch to the right then an inch to the left, back and forth very fast. I think it must be the Goodyear tires. After 39,000 miles I was told by the Chrysler dealer that they wanted $998- to replace them. The Goodyear store wanted $820-. But after reading what y'all wrote, I'm wondering which tire is best replacement for the GT? Thanks for all the great info! Just in time...again! [8)]
