Default Getrag 288 questions, considerations, and updates

First off, Hello again, it's been a while. I've since gotten a new job with GM up at the Milford Proving Grounds and moved to Detroit. I have also used my college graduation gift to buy a completely new exhaust (with electric cutout) and hard intake pipes (pending, ordered waiting to be made). I still have about $1400 left I was thinking of putting into the transmission. I wanted to get a SPEC clutch, a Quafie LSD, and freshen up the interior, but I've run into an issue.

I CANT FIND ANYTHING!!!

ok, i can find clutches...
But no syncros, hardly any seals, let alone a rebuild kit. I found sleeve repair kits, but I don't have any source for a full rebuild kit.

ALSO

the ebay listing for the quaife LSD ended, apparently they sold their last one.
so now I can't find any of those.


I'm looking for help, any leads on a Quaife or a rebuild kit for the 288. Let me know what you folks have, I know someone knows something I don't.

do you really need a rebuild kit ? or should you change to full synthetic AMSOIL atf... and get solid shifter bushings... do you even have the billet clutch pedal pivot arm or are you still using the plastic piece ?

seals are easy to get as I found them at my local parts stores and you can always lookup by their OD and ID dimensions too. also rock auto has them.

ditch the dual mass clutch and get a conversion flywheel kit. you can gain a lot of instantaneous torque from this modification.

if you have no luck finding the quaife QDH2U from these suppliers, just weld up your differential gears.
