Default Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets

Hey there everybody.

I want to change my spark plugs. When I remove the upper intake manifold, there are 4 gaskets attached to the lower intake manifold.

I assume I should replace those, or buy a set of 4, just in case?

This is the part number I came up with. Is it the correct item? I would appreciate your help.

Thanks!

This is what I found in the 2002 Pt Cruiser Parts Catalog

04777873AB 4 EDZ GASKET, Intake ManifoldCylinder Head To Intake Manifold

It wouldn't hurt to buy a set of four of them in case when you do pull the Intake Manifold you find the need to replace them. I have a new spare set myself.

These are all over ebay and other sites of this type. I haven't looked, but I'm sure ROCK AUTO will have these available also. The rectangular ring shaped ones are for the joint between the upper and lower intake manifold units that are stock on the NA Pt's.

Thanks, guys.

I did take a look on RockAuto and found them for $5-$6 for a set up upper and lower, rectangular and pear shaped. The also have a cheap set of just the rectangular ones. I'll order a set.

All you really need is the upper rectangular set. I ordered these from RA in Fel Pro , Mahle or some other big brand. These were something line $ 2 .

These gaskets are silicone and reusable although at this point changing them is worth while.

How many miles on these plugs? Mine had original badly worn out plugs at 162 K so. Since the ignition coil and wires get stressed when run with large plug gaps, I changed the coil ( Delphi, a supplier to GM ) and some generic plug wire set.

It's a good idea to have a set just in case, Kon. I'm not sure, but I THINK one of them leaking can cause the infamous, notorious P0300 misfire code.

I've had the same plugs in the care since I got it 2 1/2 years ago.
I also don't know how long they were in before I bought the car. That's how I roll, haha.

I found a cheap set of rectangular ones on RockAuto, but wasn't sure if the brand was good. All the other sets include both upper and lower.

I agree, Charlie. I see that they're cheap, so I'll order a set and change my plugs.
