Default TYC or DEPOT replacement headlights?

My 15 year old headlights are beyond restoration and I've narrowed it down to TYC or DEPOT. TYC from Rock Auto is considerably less expensive but I 'd be interested in hearing from fellow Cruisers that have actually used them.

I've bought six sets of DEPOT headlights for various cars in the last four years. And I've been very happy with them. Good stuff all around and usually less expensive than TYC.

1. 2001 PT
2. 2005 PT GT with black bezel
3. 2007 PT Vert with black bezel
4. My 2003 Dodge Quadcab
5. Son's 2003 Dodge Quadcab
6. 2006 Toyota Corolla

And a single headlight for Chevy Malibu.

Replaced my tail light that was broken with a TYC one, When I removed the old one, it was also a TYC that broke according to the sticker on it, the plastic had cracked and didn't retain it in anymore. Made me question the quality, however my new one has lifetime warranty.

DEPOT on e-bay will be about $60 higher than TYC from Rock Auto.

Most of the sets I bought came from Amazon. With free shipping, they usually beat Rock Auto for stuff like this. Plus, Amazon usually sends me what I order. That's always iffy with eBay.

Amazon has a pair of DEPO headlight for around $95

And Amazon has the Black Bezeled DEPO headlights (like in the GT in my footer) for around $120 a pair. And yes, this link is for a pair. It says so in the questions/answer section below.

Thanx Handy, Amazon was where I first looked (have a $50. gift card) but I wanted the black bezels like yours for my 03.

Great choice. Mine had a certain prism-like quality when the light was right.

I've got TYC in my Ranger and PT, both seem OK.

As for the broken TYC taillight, if the light is stressed when installed ( bent fender ) or screw over tightened, any light will crack.

I e-mailed about availability, keeping my fingers crossed. I've been procrastinating this all winter as PT was sleeping anyway. Its been a few years since I went from modding to maintaining.

I picked up a set of TYC headlight assemblies from Rock Auto just about three years ago. (03/19/2015) The plastic doesn't seem to haze at all. Total shipped was $95.48. That included all the bulbs. High beam, low beam and the signal/parking lights. See attached Invoice. I'm pleased with them. Happy PTin', ptprice
