Default Sad News

I haven't been on the site for awhile and I bring you sad news for me.
On January 19 I had a house fire which destroyed 3 cars including my 05 GT convertible. Everyone was safe but the house and the cars are gone.
Things are working out better than expected and we thank God everyday.
My wife had been encouraging me to sell the PT for awhile because I did not drive it much anymore. I was thinking of selling it this spring with the hope of getting 6K for it. Well the insurance settle for 7K which included $1500 for my extra mods. I put a lot of love and time on it over the years and I sad to see it go. Here's a pic:

Very sad to read all this, Steve. I'm just glad that you and yours made it through all right. And I'm glad your insurance company has been fair about things.

We've missed you around here and hope you will grab another PT and join back in on all the fun.

Sorry to see this happened to you and your family. Hope it all works out for you.

This thread will remind everyone to check and make sure there are no fire hazards in the house or garage. Sometimes house fires start in unimaginable ways.

I remember I had come home one day to my parent's house and I smelled heavy smoke when I walked in the house. Turns out in one of the bedrooms upstairs the window had been left open, the wind had blown the lamp off the table to the carpet knocking the shade off triggering the light bulb to come on. The light bulb was burning through the carpet to the wooden floor and was about to catch on fire.

Sorry to hear about your loss

But property can be replaced, and glad to hear that everyone is ok

Sounds like you came out pretty good on the PT. This just proves to keep good records, and don't accept the insurance companies initial offer, as they will probably try to low ball you.

Keep an eye out for a another PT, you may come across another one as there are still some nice ones out there to be found.

That's truly terrible news, Steve. I'm more concerned that you guys lost your home than the cars. To me, that would be the worst part of all. At least you and your family got out okay, so that's indeed something to be grateful for.
