Default Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction

Hey Guys,
Got stuck on the road the other day and had to be towed in my 2003 PT. No forward or reverse. Every once in a while I could get it to move a few feet but then it would slip as if it was in neutral. Sometimes I hear a sort of grinding sound (same sound as if you were really low on power steering fluid) I hooked my scan tool up to the car and got a Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction code. Could anyone shed a little light on this for me. I don't have a service manual yet and do all my own work, so I would like to know what I might be in for.

Thanks!

All I can say is that I had a similar problem, went to the dealer. they replaced the entire torque converter assembly... Thank god it was under waranty!!!

My problem was not as serious as yours though, I felt some slippage and a few days before going to the dealer, it started to whine... Since then, I have broblems with leaky CV-joint Boots... The car is going again to the dealer on Twesday.

Ian
