Default PLEASE Help!! - High Revs.. no power to brakes

Hello all!
Mine is a 2009 PT non-turbo. Had a stuck open pcv valve.. but kept driving anyway.

All of a sudden today I started it and the revs shot up to 6000 and very loud exhaust sound.. and no power to brakes.

It's probably a pressure buildup that blew off one side of the Plenum.. put it back on and the loud exhaust sound disappeared.. but the revs are still shooting up to 6000 and still no brakes.. I looked for a vacuum line, but I don't know where to look or what to look for..

Please Help?

Thanks everyone!

you want the BIG 3/8-1/2" ish vacuum line running from the brake booster to the intake... for sure. was common, even happened to crewzin'.

if no dice, make sure your throttle body is closing properly.

The brake booster is crammed up against the fire wall, under the fuse block.

Thanks for the responses guys.. I found the booster, and the large hose running from it to the plenum. But it looks fine. There doesn't seem to be any problem with it in any way.

By the way, when the pressure exploded out, it took two intake manifold gaskets with it. Cylinder 1 and 2.. 3 and 4 are still there.. I tried to put it back together without the gaskets in 1 and 2 but it revs really high when I first start it up.

Could the missing gaskets be causing the insane high idle?
Also, would that be responsible for the fact that I'm not getting any power assist to the brakes?

Also, one of the plenum bolts lost the little cylinder that attaches to it.. about 4 of them detached from the plenum when the explosion happened I put them all back together but could that one cause a vac leak as well?
I'll have to look under the car around the rad area.. it just dropped.

Any other odd extra info you can provide that may be relevant?

Seems there's a bit more to the story here. Can you enlighten us? We'll get to the bottom of it quicker.

My 2006 has 3 nipples sticking out of the brake booster valve. The one with the hose goes to the engine, the other 2 have rubber caps on them. A cap blew off a while ago, and the engine revved to about 1500 rpm.

The brake booster has a diaphragm in it to power the brakes. If that diaphragm ruptured it could cause a vacuum leak and loss of brake boost.

To check for this, I'd remove the vacuum line at the booster and plug it. If the revs drop, it could be a ruptured diaphragm in the brake booster.
