I know there have been many advise on obd ll readers from harbor freight but wanted to get some advise on the Zurich zr13 at harbor freight. I have an 08 cruiser and a 14 ram..think this is a good reader? I really want one that reads srs as both vehicles have had the light pop on recently. Any feedback for would be great. Sorry no link, but phone is about dead and wanted to get this post out. Thanks in advance!

That's the one...Thanks!!
![]() Haven't seen a bad reviews on it, other than not coming with a case. Every time I say I'm going to buy one, I end up getting frustrated in researching the best bang for the buck and end up not biting the bullet on one. ![]() |

I would Pass
this is a One and done scanner it's cheep and you get what you pay for . you need a scanner that give you "Real time Data" HF used to sell CenTek for $69 . ZR11 been on sale for under $100 https://www.harborfreight.com/zr11-o...abs-63807.html . ![]()

Well, I ended up pulling the trigger on the Zr13 and I git some buyer remorse. I wanted a reader that had srs and abs capability and the live data feature to troubleshoot a suspected bad clock spring on my ram. Unfortunately, I get "this module does not support live data for this module" when I get my srs error. Pretty sure everything I read said it provides live data for all trouble codes. I was under the impression, it would give me the live ohms for my trouble code for open squib 2. Secondly, I hooked it up to my pt that doesn't have any codes and I get can't communicate with module when I scan for srs codes. Same error when I go into enhanced oem for the pt, but works for the ram. I ended up pay 140 with online coupon, but really with the lack of supporting features for my 2 vehicles, the zr11 probably would have done the same thing. Food for thought on anyone thinking of purchasing the zr13. Harbor freight said it would a 30 buck restocking fee if I returned, seems like a ripoff if I am returning it because it doesn't do all the box says it does. I'll probably eat the loss to return and look for a better scanner that will provide live data for srs abs faults. More research!

the nature of the restocking fee is anything you might use and then return after your project. they know they cater to people trying to save a buck, so things like floor jacks, scanners, engine hoists, etc, all have restocking fees. IIRC my $20 timing gun had a restocking fee.

Harbor Freight discontinued the original ones that I use and use to recommned. I have looked at these and they are not really much different from the other brand they carried like mine. Just get one I am confident you will be able to do most DIY tasks with it! |
