Default Anyone try this?

Look at this stuff, I see this golf cart everywhere. It’s called Mirrachrome looks pretty good for a chrome paint. Anyone try it yet? I saw on their page a bunch of other crazy paints as well.

That car is just asking to be keyed.

I hate to follow that car at night. The reflection has to be a killer.

I read something a few months back that it takes an absolute minimum of 1 gallon to paint a vehicle "properly" - no idea how many coats are in "properly" but I'm guessing at least 2 or 3.

Read through their application guide and you'll get a better sense of just how much it would cost to hit your PT with it...

Step 1. - Black basecoat.

Step 2. - Clear coat, wet sand and buff. Repeat until it looks like glass.

Step 3. - Clean with Alcohol

Step 4. - Chrome Paint.

Step 5. - Heat Surface.

Step 6. - Wipe Down.

Step 7. – Clear Coat.

Step 8. - Sand and buff.

Essentially you'll be painting your car twice if I'm reading them correctly.

Now if I could only win the lottery......

I have always wondered what a PT would look like with a total
chrome paint job. Anyone good with photoshop?[?]

Hmmmm. That gives me some new ideas for the new ride...

Actually the price is not that bad. Chrome illusion paint runs around $35-40 an ounch. So it is actually cheaper to use this paint. BTW, paint isn't what gets you... its the labor involved with all the special prepping that needs to be done.

Now I kinda wish I when with a Silver GT instead of a Cool Vanilla... NOT!!!

I like the tints they used[8D]
