Default From tragedy to dream

Well... I'm sure some of you remember how I got hit in a parking lot and it totaled my Red NA PT. Well...

PTcrash(edit).jpg

I was comming over a hill and the lady infront of my slammed on her brakes for a slow moving garbage truck and I was (i think) looking off at a barn, didn't see her stopping until i was 10ft away still going 40mph. SO I had it towed back to my apartment, started to take it apart, and found all the radiator supports were destroyed. It started to crumple the underlying frame of the fenders. Would be serious work to repair. SO I decided to part it out, keeping the engine and a select few other parts, (so if you need parts pm me). I didn't report it to insurance, because they wouldn't pay out enough to make up for the rate increase. So, i'm taking the hit with this one. Well, I still need another PT (still got parts for one), so i managed to find this guy selling an 03 Dream Cruiser Series 2 in GA. So I contacted the guy (who was a picture perfect seller), and bought a flight down to GA and drove the DCS2 back up to michigan.

It has a few broken parts (shifter's paint is flaking, shifter bushings are bad, steering rack is leaking, the weird 03 mirror have got to go) and a few other things that need to be replaced. BUT i have a whole other PT to pull parts from so I should be fine.

The nicer part is that the guy threw in a bunch of cool stuff with the car.
I got the original rims (in really good condition, just need a polishing), A set of Eibach sway bars, blue silicone radiator hoses, some sales ad photos of the PT, and a pillar gauge pod. The PT already has some really nice 18x8 TSW rims, stage 1, Koni adjustable shocks, Eibach Springs, and it has the 06 plastic turbo manifold.

It did cost me a pretty penny to get everything and I still have a ways to spend until I have everything, but It didn't cost as much as I thought, but I got myself a Nice PT (arguably the nicest PT) and I'm glad to own such a remarkable edition of the PT. I actually kinda feel bad to drive it to work, I kinda want to get another car for work commuting.

The '03 DC2 is one of the most beautiful PT's ever made

And it being a southern car, the underneath should be in real good condition

Sorry to hear about the wreck, but at least you have a nicer PT now! I'm just curious as to how you're handling the person you ran into, since you don't mention the police and didn't report it to your insurance company.
