Default Cooling fan not spinning?

Hello all. So I had noticed that my A/C wasnt as cold as it should be. So I topped up the cold juice, and tried it again. It is charged, but still does not get too terribly cold very fast.

Poked my head a little further in and saw the radiator fan was not spinning! So I went to diagnose things, and I cannot fo the life of me, find the relays for it at all.

It is a 2007, so it should just be to the left of the radiator fan, right? I aint got anything that looks like a relay there.

So, I am wondering what my next step is. LIkely ripping the front off and getting a closer look at the fan, and maybe finding the relay? I could get a new fan pretty easily, but that is like $50.

If the bracket is broken, look on top of the A/C compressor.

The relays should be mounted on the fan at the upper right hand corner (passenger side) of the fan:

Are you the original owner to your PT?

If not, someone may have relocated them if they replaced the fan.

Not the original owner. I looked and looked and couldnt find the relays. Id like to test them somehow first before doing a whole fan replacement. Which doesnt even come with new relays that I can see.

I will have to dig a bit more and try to find the things.

If its the original fan, its bad. New ones I'vebought were complete with relays and under $100.
Worn fan brushes, a bad low pressure switch, on top of the accumulator or a bad wiring harness connector are the usual problems.

You can get new fan that includes new relays and a new wiring harness, which is what you should get because if you transfer the old relays and old wiring harness to the new fan, the new fan may still have problems with the other old parts.

With the engine cold, start the engine, turn on the A/C. The coolant fan should be coming on almost immediately.

If not coming on unplug the radiator fan plug and manually apply 12 volts to both low and high speeeds. Post what you find out.

Ended up buying a new fan with relays, since that seemed to be what needed to be done anyways.
