Default PCM Choices

Well according to the dealer, my car needs a PCM. It will be $1700 at the dealer, but I am not doing that, What online sites are best for PCM replacement?

That was the source that I got mine from. I bought mine on their Ebay store as they had a better price then, $150 with their lifetime warranty.

However, they have gone up on their Ebay store pricing $224:

Their website pricing is now better, $195:

It is truly plug-n-play. It will be programmed to your VIN. They ask for the vehicle mileage but that's only for their failure tracking info, the mileage on your PT is maintained in the instrument cluster, so when you replace the PCM, it will still display the correct vehicle mileage as before the PCM was replaced.

There is also forum member "myckee" that offers PCM's and he also lives in Canada, so that may help on the shipping charges if you contact him. I believe he is still out of the country for another 1-2 weeks, but he does check the forum or may get your message if you PM him.

He's helped out quite a few members and he's a good guy to deal with, I've never heard anyone complain about what they purchased from him.

I ended up buying it from them, I called to the represenitive and they said it wouldn't be a problem to program to Canadian Emissions and in KM. Was $199 for the PCM and $50 for shipping

I saw there was an Ebay seller in Ottawa, but he was away for a few weeks and the description said it was for manual PT Cruisers only. im guessing that was Myckee

There was a person named Mikey that sells PCMs on ebay and also has been active on this forum.

He has been beyond helpful to this community. I would definitely reach out to him.

Links to one of his listing and to his Ebay profile.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-05-Chr...oAAOSwIIFbPBh0

https://www.ebay.com/usr/myckeee?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Link says the seller will be away until September 18. I do remember he said he was stepping away for a bit in an earlier post. I believe his username is the same on this forum.

Before you install the new PCM, be sure to disconnect the battery.

Then follow these connection instructions, especially the last NOTE:

Thanks, Lets pray they program my PCM fast, and UPS ships fast! Florida to Ontario may be a bit slow, I like the idea of limetime warranty. out of curiosity, why did you replace your PCM? Is it normal to have PCM alternator issues?

My PT was experiencing auto trans shifting issues, which was diagnosed as the PCM as the TCM is contained within the PCM. Been shifting fine ever since it was replaced.

It is good you got one sorted out. Yes, that was me you saw on eBay. I actually have all years and tunes, but I am away so I haven't been on top of the listings. I will be home on the 18th and can get everything sorted out then.

If you were here I would have totally purchased from you, But both your PT Cruiser listings said for manual cars I thought
