Default 2001 Trac Off Light Intermittent

The Trac Off light has been coming on intermittently. (No, the Trac Off button is not being pushed).

Any ideas where to search for this?

Driving along everything normal, and then "BING" sounds, the light is on, and then is just goes off again.

Thanks!

I would suggest checking for codes with a scanner that includes ABS codes.

Sometimes one of the wheel sensors starts to go bad and you have the intermit trac light come on.

When I had this issue my ABS tone ring was cracked.

I found that the lead to the starter was loose. I tightened it down and haven't seen it since...

Not sure how that could cause this... but maybe?

I have a 2001 with the Trac light on the dash almost all the time. I've been ignoring it for 10 years and I've seen it go out only once. Does my traction system work? I dunno. There have always been more important concerns with mine! May you have better luck!

One of the split seats went into a dumpster in Tulsa. The arm rest unscrewed and fell off. It's on its 2nd timing belt. Surviving the Upper Peninsula winters.
