Lightbulb Another Turbo Lite Question

With the 2003 Cruiser I am converting into a panel Cruiser, I am going to replace the rusty exhaust tips.

In measuring I found ....IT ONLY HAS 2 INCH EXHAUST PIPE!!!!
Maybe could stretch the imagination to 2.25!
It was my understanding that a turbo from the factory would have a 2.5 inch exhaust system.

I am going to contact Ray at PTeazer, as the Cruiser is one of his early projects.
But...that makes me think that the turbo is either aftermarket, an add-on, or this is a Turbo Lite.

All the badging has been removed.
No window sticker or Owner's Manual.
But, it does have the Aluminum Intake!
Picture below....

Can I discover the build status of the turbo from my VIN number???

OK, so I looked up the VIN on several Web pages.

Looks like it WAS mfg as 2.4L L4 Turbo.
So, I am assuming that it is a standarb, but not HO turbo.
And the L4 just means "in-line".

In 03 there were no turbo lites. If it had a turbo, it was a GT and all are HO. You can see in your vin if you see …...78G...… then it's a GT. The factory exhaust pipe size is 2.25". If you got the Mopar/Borla kit for the GT, it was 2.5".

They did make a Mopar Borla for the non-turbo too, but it may have just used the stock 2.25" pipe.

You can look up the build sheet of your car here. Enter the VIN in the box and press serach:

Thanks Myckee!
Yup! "78G"!
I guess I got lucky. I guessed....
I had ordered replacement exhaust tips, input 2.25; out 3!

myckee-

Have you noticed that the link that you posted to get a Build Sheet no longer works, and Dodge has changed their website, too:

https://fcacommunity.force.com/Dodge/s/

Have you been able to find another link to still get the Build Sheet?

After I posted the link, the site stopped working. The build sheet servlet still works so I was using an old link and just changing the VIN at the end, basically eliminating the Chrysler middleman so to speak.

https://www.chrysler.com/webselfserv...FY48B83T619209

I would just change the VIN at the end.

However, it is nice to have a real link again! Thanks the3dgm.

I have chryslerized your link..

Thanks, when their new site come up, I spent 10 minutes wading through their menu system to find it, didn't pay attention to the fact it said RAM, my bad, just that it pulled up PT build sheets.

Made note of the change.

I found the link on the RAM forum late this morning, but didn't have time to revise my post.

Glad to see that it's still available
