Default Sway bar bushing

so when I did my control arms, I am pretty sure I didn't put the way bar bushings back right, or in the right order, it clunks over bumps a lot, so I figured may as well get new bushings and put it in. Any recommendations? will be ordering from rock auto, the most expensive kit from energy suspension is only $20, should I just get that?

The Moog bushings have worked well for me. The slit in the bushing should face forward. Be sure to measure your sway bar diameter as the bushings come in various sizes based on sway bar diameter. They are 24 mm on my PT but yours may be different. Some anti-seize compound on the clamp bolts may be a good idea otherwise they will get rusty from all the winter salt spray and be a PITA to remove in the future.

The Energy Suspension kit will have urethane bushings. The normal kits, regardless of the brand, will have rubber bushings. On a regular driver, the rubber bushings are fine, IMO.

If your set on urethane, GO FOR IT! It's only a few dollars more.

Just get the polyurethane kit for your diameter sway bar and make sure to replace the end links while your at it. I've had issues snapping my end links and having the sway bar clunk but I've also had a lot of issues with my LCA bushings as well, check both even if you just replaced your control arms.

I'd recommend doing the sway bar bushings at the same time, AJ. You're going to be under the car anyway and it doesn't take that much longer. That way, it's all fresh and you SHOULDN'T have to eff with it for quite a while after that.

Fair enough and they are cheap enough, Is there anyway to tell what size bushing you need without removing the bar and measuring it? Can you decode from the VIN? Would not like to get under my car if I don't have to, its getting cold

You do not need to remove the sway bar to measure it nor do you have to get under the car. Just reach in from the side with a caliper calibrated in mm and get a quick measurement.

or use some open end wrenches and slide them over the bar until one just goes over it, somewhere around 24mm...
