Default Woke up like this!

I knew the one exhaust hanger was broken, and due to the way it is I couldnt use a big hose clamp. But about a month later, today I woke up to discover my exhaust sitting pretty low, the bounces of the lowered pt cruiser haven't been nice on the old hangers

But for once, the pt cruiser broke when it wasn't too much of a hassle, today is my day off, my dad is picking up his new Honda today, so I can have his old car until I figure this out, my grandpa has a new muffler hes never used, so all this will cost me is $2 in self tapping bolts for the rear, and whatever a new clamp is. So right on PT Cruiser! Will update when fixed.

I would guess that one of the brackets has been broken for a while and put extra stress on the other. Looks like a simple fix with a muffler replacement.

Last year my muffer literally cracked through 100% and was hanging by the hanger. I was 80 miles away from home when this happened.

I let it cool and then cut the rubber piece and took the muffer off. I drove all the way home without one.

I sure got some looks from people driving a PT that sounded like a race car, lol

the two on the driver side have been broken for ?? A long time, but only way to fix them without replacing the muffler would be to weld, and I don't know how to or own a welder, I thought there was probably more exhaust hangers then 3 on the entire car, turns out I was wrong, the third ones screws are so rusted looks like they fell out, Just going to get a slightly bigger self tapper.

At least I wasn't 80 miles from home. Last summer my exhaust pipe just up and broke clean at the catalytic converter. No warning. I ran a piece of rope under the car, through the bottom of the door jams, and tied it in a big loop to hold it up until I got home. As I remember it back-popped pretty good when ever I let off the gas.

Top left corner... mind you I'm being prissy - by next spring I will have scraped, rust treated and resprayed the rest of mine underneath with nice thick acrylic.

Cold weather / couldn't be arsed meant I did the front and most of the middle section. The back end can wait until next year. It's pretty good anyway.
