Default Mysterious noise from front end....

Hi All,

My 2005 PT GT Rag Top has developed a "groaning/grinding" noise coming from the front end as it starts to roll. Took it to Chrysler but they couldn't pinpoint it or fix it. Took to my regular shop the front driver side bearing and hub was replaced (bad according to them) noise remains. They also gave up.
It is only audible when you start driving then goes away after you get up to speed. I hear it mostly when I begin driving at slow speed out of my driveway and alley. Once up to speed I can't hear it.

So I'm stumped also any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Check your front sway bar bushings and replace them if worn. These can cause a lot of noise.

Im with GotToGo, mine does it every morning coming out of the driveway. Humidity makes the brakes swell a bit overnight. I hear it only in the front and it stops at the first stop sign at the end of the block.

Does the groaning/grinding noise come back after you get up to speed and slow down again?

Was it making that noise BEFORE you got the new brakes put on?

It started waaaay after the brakes were installed. The noise doesn't change with the brakes on or off. It appears to me that is coming from the center of the engine compartment.

What was the actual item # of the brake kit that you got? Or can you provide a link to the actual ad that you got them from?

When I search Amazon for the Power Stop brake kits, the Amazon filters all say that they don't fit the '05 PT:
