Did it gradually do it or quickly?

Hi Steve.....it happened in just one day, I had great heat then just slightly warm air. But it coincided with my 1 year old battery going bad and needed replacement.....everything on the same day or so.
All the switches seem to work ok, blower motor is fine. The temp gauge gets up the 1/2 with the heater off then when I turn the heat on itís a little warm air for several seconds then the temp gauge drops then itís badly noticeably warm.
I have a thermostat coming tomorrow but for me thatís a guess that it may be the problem.
Thanks for the help Steve and Merry Christmas too

I would suggest doing a diagnosis before replacing the thermostat.

I would suggest using a thermal gun to get temperature readings.

Are you located where the environment is very cold right now?

I assume your fan is blowing strongly and you've turned the heat knob up and down several times along with the vent selector switch (face/feet/defroster).

Just making sure you check the free stuff first before tearing into the cooling system and spending any money.

Not very cold in NY so far so the heater isnít a big issue but it will be soon.
Less heat is coming out now....hopefully new thermostat will make a difference

I'd do a flush on the heater core if it were mine. Just remove both heater hoses and put the garden hose on one pipe and blast it out. You might want a shot piece of hose off the other pipe into a bucket to see what it catches. Then reverse the flow and blast it the other way.

Thanks Chuzz
I replaced the thermostat today simply because itís 10 years old and easy to do but didnít help the heater. Going to govyourvroute flushing out the core pet your instructions.
1. Hoses through fire wall to heater core are hot
2. Rotating the selector on right side from cold to hot allows me to hear inside the dash that something is happening. The blue sends cool air and the red sends barely warm air.
Process of elimination points to clogged heater core.
Thanks for the input

Let us know if that works. If not, I'm sure there will be other suggestions.

My friends on the forum did it again. My heater was putting out zero heat and after investigating the dashboard work to get at doors and actuators I was close to panic mode. After changing thermostat which did nothing I went with one poster that recommended flushing the heater core......
Connected a garden hose to hot water from my dog grooming van, flushed for 15 minutes then switched hoses and flushed another 15 minutes. Put it back together and if I could hang a hotdog in front of the heater vent I could have lunch now.
Thanks to all who suggested remedies to my problem. You are ROCKSTARS
