Default 2007 pt cv front wheel problem

my daughter has a 2007 pt convertible , a few weeks ago she drove over a large pothole and now the car squeeks when driven , i did jack it up and there is sideways movement if i grab the tyre at 3 and 9 o clock but nothing if i grab from 12 to 6 o clock, i checked the track rods and they are tight and the rack has no free play , but there is definite movement sideways, i did order some wheel bearings but i'm thinking it might not be that, any thoughts
Anthony
i'm thinking its not wheel bearings as there is no movement top to bottom

I'd check for a broken tie rod end or end link on the sway bar. Could be the end link because they're not all that strong anyway. If not one of those, check the ball joint.

If it feels like it's in the center, it sounds like the locknut could be loose. I don't see how that could happen because the torque on them is high. Maybe the cotter pin broke and that nut has come loose? IDK I'm not really a mechanic, although I DID sleep at a Holiday Inn Express one night.

This is a two man job. One twists the tire back and forth. Another under the car with a good light looks for the problem. ----- Be safe!
