Have him clear out the cobwebs in his head. Was he distracted after getting out of the car? Is it possible he placed the keys down in a place he usually doesn't?

There's a good chance the keys aren't even in there. It would be bad to damage the car only to find the keys were never there.
We were going to leave,he got to the car before I did..and by that time they were gone.
I can't figure out how he lost them from the door to the car..he still claims he heard them slide, but why can't a visual be seen?? Makes no sense to me.

Everything has been checked over and over. I'm still gonna look into someone who can locate them, cause I'm really curious now.

A few posts back you said that you couldn't get onto the forum due to an ice storm.

Have you had bad weather (snow or ice on the ground) since you started this thread?

Do you lock your car to where your husband had to have them to open the doors?

If the answers are "yes" and "no" to both of the above questions, is it not just possible that your husband lost the keys on the way to the car, and because of any bad weather that you may have had, they are lost in the yard/driveway on the way to the car, and may surface in the spring when all the ice and snow goes away?

Just something to consider that maybe they never made it to the car and are "lost" in the house or the pockets of any clothes (pants, jackets, etc) that he may have been wearing that day.

Our Ice storm was a few weekends ago,so it was just bad for a few days. Winter has been very mild here so theres nothing on the ground. We never lock the doors. The keys made it outside, since I was with him when he locked the house door... as to where they went from the door to the car I have no idea.he wears the same jacket everyday and weve checked numerous times. I seen him put the keys into his left jacket pocket before we walked downstairs, but he was outside before I go down there.. so they were literally lost in a matter of maybe 50ft?

Hole in the pocket and maybe keys are inside the coat lining?

Hole in husbands head, maybe

Have you gotten the new key yet?

If not, IMO, you should get 2 cut as long as the locksmith is there.

Shouldn't be much more labor, and just the cost of the additional key. But that way you will have a spare if you lose one again.

Without a spare, you'll be right back in the same situation.
