Default Camping out of a cruiser?

Getting cabin fever and itching for a road trip. Paying nightly for a motel for just me seems extravagant. Any ideas how to equip my cruiser for a week on the road for, say, 40 degree weather? 6'2" Just for the fun of it.
Step one could be removing the back seats and building a carpeted platform/false floor flush with folded forward ft passenger seat. Lots of leg room and storage underneath. Even a real spare tire.

Makes you wish you lived in Australia.
Could install my old 1200 watt inverter for the coffee pot and 400 watt microwave. Plus any electronics or tools. All under the platform. Eliminating stoves etc.
Have already use the inverter to make coffee and cut down trees.

You can buy an OEM pt cruiser tent that pops out of the rear on ebay. I would suggest that route.

After a little soul searching I realized the Cruiser wouldn't make a very good camper. The Sienna I bought a month after the Cruiser has 2.5 times the room without any mpg penalty. Only draw back is another vehicle to insure.
