Default Hood Insulation Blanket... Were to Get?

I want to replace my hood insulation blanket.. PN 4724800AC. None on EBay, none on Google, and local Chrysler dealer says there are -0- available nationwide... nobody has one!

Anyone have any suggestions for a source??

Thanks

I've found some very nice ones at the salvage yard before. But my favorite solution is to just take a pair of scissors and cut a straight line across the back removing the rear 8 inches or so. That will often remove all the tattering and leave the nice part. And it seems to stay in place better too.

The
FAT MAT
under hood kit is really better than the OEM

To find a decent one just take a stroll through a salvage yard and check out PTs. I found a good under hood insulation blanket for SOOO BIG at our local LKQ yard. It was in really good shape originally when I installed it but later on I messed it up a bit accessing the windshield squirters. To solve that I cut the funky edge back a few inches but not as much as Handy_Cruiser did. It all depends on how funky it is.
I salvaged quite a few hold down clips too. If your gonna do a re-install and need enough clips to do it, their yours for the cost of mailing. Just PM me.

Hi, Thanks for the note! I went to a couple of salvage yards, including a pick your part, and all the hood liners were trash -- dry, falling apart, dirty. Oh well. I think my clips are all ok......

I didn't find a decent hood insulation blanket on my first stroll through the Daytona LKQ Pick Your Part salvage yard.
I would guess your ambient weather in your area is similar to Ormond Beach.. Your latitude, 29.76, compares to 29.28 for Ormond Beach. A lot better than anything north, south or west of us. Being either too wet, too dry, too cold or too hot. It just takes time to find a diamond in the ruff.
I suggest you do as I did.
If you do have an LKQ yard, or something simila, in your area, do as I did.
I enrolled in their email notification program. I'm on their PT Cruiser notification list. Whenever a PT Cruiser comes into their yard I get an email.
Also their online web site has a scroll down of current inventory.
Let your fingers do the walking my friend.
My only current restriction is, in this particular (huge) LQK yard, the Chrysler section is all the way back in the rear section of the yard. Now, on a bad day, that's a long stroll for this old geezer.
