Default Constant P303 misfire

I'm at my wits end on this one, 2003 PT Cruiser GT turbo 110K miles. keep getting a cylinder 3 misfire.
Car was parked for 8 months while daughter was in college, she drove it 2-3 short times and it died on her but she was able to limp it home, when I test drove it, I can tell something is off, it's not running "rough". It's still got decent power and pickup. When I clear the code, it does the blinking thing for a few minutes and will finally set the code after 10-15minutes of driving.
So far I've done the following:
-replaced the plugs and wires :no change
-checked coil secondaries with multimeter, they read around 12.5Kohm, within the acceptable range 11.5-13.5
-replaced air intake gasket between the upper and lower intake when i did the injector swap below :no change
-found a crack near the turbo on the rubber air box intake to turbo tube, replaced :no change
- moved fuel injectors up one spot 1->2->3->4->1 expecting if it was a bad injector, cyl4 would begin misfiring, no change
-did a cold dry compression test, all cylinders between 162-166PSI

I'm thinking of replacing the ignition coil, it's only like 20$ anyways and also the cam shaft sensor next. Any insight or suggestions as to what I could look further into?

Did you check for injector pulse with a noid light or similar tool? Usually when the coil fails you lose two cylinders

I would probably go back to the compression test and dig a little deeper because cyl number 3 has come up several times for a valve issue.

I would suggest putting fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank.. If that doesn't help check your fuel pressure.

So I found this site which walks you thru a no start scenario and started going thru, https://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/ch...rt-condition-2
turns out tower 3/Cyl 3 on my ignition coil is not firing but all the other 3 are fine. Just ordered a new ignition coil. So even thought the testing the secondary and primary coils checked out ok, it did turn out that pole 3 is potentially bad.

If we are just throwing parts - lower intake gasket to engine was my problem. No way to tell from the outside, beyond looking in the injector port with the injector pulled. Mine was P0304 which is apparently most common on the aluminium turbo manifolds. Where mine was screwed up could pretty easily have caused a problem at #3 though.

Please post after replacing the ignition coil. Usually when one side of the coil goes bad 2 cylinders are not firing.

So replaced the ignition coil, purrs like a kitten, cyl2 was firing correctly, I checked it with a spark tester, only 3 didn't fire.
Fk5, chuzz and rob302 like this.
