Default Vise grips

I have a small pair of vise grips tightly holding my battery to Alternator stud(stud is broken)

Iíve been driving around like this for weeks. Haha

Like duct tape, there's no end to the utility of Vise Grips.

A possible poor-boy fix is to solder the wire to what's left of the stud. If you do this, you will need to fix the wire where it doesn't pull on the soldered weld at all. Sometimes you can do that with zip ties if you are creative enough.

A better low cost fix would be a salvage alternator. Salvage yards are full of PT's and these alternators aren't especially known for failing.

My buddy had a Chevette in the early 90's. It had a Saginaw 4 speed and he snapped the shift lever. He replaced it by tightening a vise grip on the remaining stub and drove it like that for 2 years.
