Default 07 - No crank at all / immobilizer red light on

We initially replaced the fuel pump (gas station in town was selling bad gas) and ignition switch.

We put everything back together and now when turning it on, all lights and sounds come on normally but no crank at all when turning key. The immobilizer red light comes on on the dash and stays blinking. We've also replaced the starter relay.

I've read through countless posts and I still can't find an answer.

Key fob isn't working but tried unlocking back door and nothing. Tried key dance and nothing.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

You need to fully seat the starter relay, that is, have someone pushing hard on it with a thumb while the driver holding the ignition to start.

I had this same problem before and it took me a while to isolate the issue. Any time the car won't start this is what I do.

The cause is the socket pins on the power distribution panel are worn out.

edit: this only applies to early model PTs without a Totally Integrated Power Module.

Thank you for the advice. Went ahead and tried it but no luck, unfortunately.

If you changed the ignition switch, did you have it rekeyed to the old grey headed key. That key has a chip in it and must be near the ignition switch for security to allow you to start the car
IF the PCM and other security components are still working correctly.

Try another key if you have one.

You can actually use a jumper wire to go across the starter relay terminals and drive power to the engine starter. second trick is, can turn the key to start and also check for a power signal coming into the relay terminal. if you're into doing this work i can share the diagrams to you, send me a private message

the way the SKIM 'sentry key interlock module' works is the ECU will energize the auto-shutdown relay after 3 seconds of the engine running. else, a key with the incorrect passkey will and can crank the engine.

My no crank problem ended up being the PCM.
Symptom:
If I tried to start the car by turning the key slowly sometimes it would turn the starter for a split second then nothing.

Continuing to turn the key would intermittently give me the same result
Finally bought off ebay a PCM-skim module and ignition cylinder with chipped key from the same vehicle..... No Programming. Nothing reset. Started and run perfect.

Quick update:

- Checked starter relay to make sure it was getting a signal from the ignition. It did.

- Checked starter's direct wire to battery, it's okay. Checked the other wire (the one that goes to fuses -black-) and nothing (when turning key).

We then jumped the starter (using a wire on the 87 and 30 terminals on the starter relay) and now we get a crank! (finally! But still doesn't start). But only when jumping it. No crank without that.

Not sure what to do next, though.
