I doubt the OP is planning to do the work so for anybody reading this the steps and procedures mentioned should not be considered. Procedures change, determined by situation.

LOL really.....

You just summed up yet again on another topic what you don't really know much on the subject but definitely post what one should NOT do as far as a service procedure!

While I am not necessarily a "Paint & Body" GURU and have only painted maybe a dozen or more complete cars, boats and motorcycles in my time and spot repaired at least double that , I rely on other's in my industry more capable with far more experience and training to do better work. However I learn from them what is the wrong way to do panting ....

I got the same contempt when visiting a bodyshop in the UP. They were shimming hood hinges when fitting. I suggested flexing the mount. You'd have thought I killed someone. Nobody likes to be showed how to do something in five minute that took them an hour for the last twenty years. A week later they invited me for dinner. Keep an open mind.

Your example about the hood alignment is not the same thing as painting on this thread. As for your advise in this thread about what you would do ...well I guess you can do that on your own vehicles ... or for that matter anything else you want to in your way .
LOL

But on this thread your advise to other's to do a paint repair in the manner you suggest is just WRONG! And that is not my opinion but simple fact! LOL

But I do enjoy your weird logic just like that last time you posted ridicules sheet like the dilution of transmission fluid based on pan fluid service intervals...ROLMAO on the other thread. Now that one was just funny, sad but funny.

Guys-
i will be getting the hood, top and the down around the rear window.
Yes, i understand its not a whole paint job and get what i pay for. At this moment,
they do good work and talked about blending it in and how.
It be the next following Monday.
I am thinking of contemplating leaving the California Vizor off or not. It does give it a gangster look and makes it look different.
I'll try get some before & after pics

Got my car back yesterday/afternoon.
Looks great.
Lost my stick-on fake vents on the hood- no biggie.
Got the Vizor done as well.
Pretty pleased for 1,025 dollars.
I will clean it up this week and post pics when ready.
They say- i can comeback to clear coat/sand out the headlights for 50 bucks. Which i can do myself.

Somehow i could no load pics here in the attachment, so i used my imgur.
Keep in mind, the painted the top portion, expect a tad shade difference until it all buffs out. The bottom half is original, so yeah, 15 or so years older paint.

Wow!
After ignoring them for years, I must be on Photobucket's Black List!
I can't see any pictures.
Just large blurry Icons.
