Default Oil pan gasket..Well the shop said 10 hrs labor??

Had work done timing belt, oil sensor..Have oil leak and was told it was coming from oil pan gasket and that it was like 10 hours work ..can anyone confirm this?? That would be insane..Never had a oil pan gasket cost that much on time or labor..But most of my experience is with older classics..Thanks

There idiots or scammers or both. The oil pan drops out and very easy to get to.

I would say 1 hr most after removing, cleaning, putting new gasket on and re-installing

I agree with xwing. Sounds to me like someone wants to go Christmas shopping with YOUR credit card or cash! Find another shop. One that's honest. Two hours max, start to finish.

It wouldn't hurt to see if any of the oil pan bolts are loose.

The upper oil pans gasket on BMW X5's can be 18 hours of work. But the PT oil pan should be 1 hours
