Default Goodbye Petey

Last Saturday, we dropped off my wife's beloved Petey at the scrap yard. It was time for it to go, 192,000 miles, the oil light was coming on and off and the CEL would also make an appearance now and again. It made lots of clunking and thumping from the front end. It also needed new tires. The left front was badly worn on the inside, all the way to the belts. She got 'tapped' in a parking lot a few months ago, and I think it did more damage than the slight dent by the grill. As she put it, it got 'frightening to drive'. So it was time for it to be retired and recycled. It was replaced by a 2020 Subaru Forester(and a monthly payment)
I did my best to keep it running to the end, and the folks on this forum also had a correct answer for any question I had. The love for the funky little cars is quite apparent.

Thank You and Happy Motoring.

Scrap yard?? Nooooooooooooo. You could have offered to let someone here have it for free or just for parts. That's so sad.

Or give it to one of your kids or grandkids to see if they can keep it running. We do that in our family all the time.
