Default Remote Starter or Something else

I was recently cleaning my rear view mirror when behind the mirror I noticed an antenna with a black box. (Images below)

I asked a friend who said he thought it was the antenna for a remote starter.

The antenna has a wire that travels to the drivers side pillar. I bought this car used and got just one key. The dealer never mentioned a remote starter. I looked under the dash and don't see anything that looks like a remote start module. I also tried pressing the lock key three times on the key. I've previously complained about the battery on the PT 2007 draining quick- about 1.5 to 2 weeks of no driving, had everything checked out and came back clear, even replaced the battery to be safe. This might explain why.

Anyone have something like this in on their car? Is it a remote starter antenna, anyone know the brand/ where the module should be?

it could be something like a remote start or an add-on security system like a viper.

Default Re: Remote Starter or Something else

i have a bulldog remote start that came with mine..i had to remove the fuse and not use it as someone nearby at night would be able to crank it up.
The location is under the steering wheel for mine. Pop down the cover directly under the column.
Over the many years, mine had problens dying with it stitting like yours...You gotta DRIVE IT!!! Also the tires will flat spot with it sitting.
