Full Size Spare Tire?

Has anyone managed to fit something under the car other than the donut?

Can't see how. Even if you redid the metal "cage" hanger, a full-size tire is much fatter and would hang lower. I also think a full-size tire is larger in daimeter, and don't think there's room between rear beam axle and rear bumper. If there's a way, I'd love to hear of it - I hate the motorcycle spare. I hear you! I am not saying I have done it, just curious if someone else had. I had a blowout for the first time and since I was under there, I got to thinking. It looks like there is room for something bigger, but I a m probably wrong. Can't hurt to ask.

Something to think about....I was at a show last Sunday and one of the members of my Tampa Bay Cruisers club said he had a flat tire the day before. His PT is completely modded and lowered. He told me when I had time, that I better check to see if the donut spare will work on my lowered PT...his didn't. Now I think he's lowered a full 3 inches where I'm lowered only a little over 2", but with my lake pipes I'm really close to the ground already on the sides. It's something to think about.

THE DEALER LIED! OH WELL, NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. but you would think the sales people would know something about the cars before they try to sell you one. Or at the very least; be honest.

Reminds me of the used-car salesman at the Dodge dealership that I bought my wife's 03 Touring edition. He pointed to the chrome clad wheels and told me it had the "Chrome package".

The car was good, and the price I got down to something I could live with, but I had to "tune out" the salesman, he really didn't know anything about PT Cruisers. Yes, I know, it was a Dodge dealership, but they did (and still do) have a bunch of PT's on their lot to sell!

I remember many years ago VW had 2 models I was looking at - I wanted a Rabbit, and the salesman kept pushing me toward the bigger model. Both were front wheel drive, but the bigger one had a longitudinal engine like Audi does, while the Rabbit engine was transverse - I pointed out that much of the length of the bigger car was of no use to me because of the engine placement - the salesman didn't know what I was talking about, so I opened the hoods, showed him, and explained. He just said "I never noticed that!" I think some used to sell appliances....

So the answer is No- a full size cannot fit. Can someone confirm whether a Full size will fit?
