Default ADDING A SECOND HORN

Just added the High Tone second horn to my 2004 PT...What a difference. It actually sounds like a car now. I had to splice into the wire since the 2004 no longer has the second horn wiring or connector. If you have not done this modification to your 2003 or 2004 or 2005....do it now...your life may depend on it....

Where did you get the high tone horn?

Did you have to add any length of wire, and if you did, do you know what gauge or type of wire you should use?

I ordered it from Tenefy jeep...online and I used 18 guage wire. I used two plastic connectore that let you slice into the wire with a slot fror the new wire....baught all that I needed at wal-mart..except for the bolt...got that at pepboys...Took at total of about 1 hour for the complete job....

Very true! Within a month after installing the second high-note horn on my GT it prevented a couple "fender benders" in parking lots where the other person was backing up without looking. [V] [:0]

Does the 04' not already have the connector for the second horn? My '03 only came with the single horn (all PT's prior to '03 had dual horns) but the wiring harness was still there.

I bought the second horn from Chrysler, installed it and plugged in the dangling second connector with no problem.

I have since added another horn relay and button on the console to activate a 1970 NOS Plymouth Roadrunner horn which I mounted behind the drivers side fog light. I use the Roadrunner horn for saying HI, and the dual Chrysler horn's for warning folks they are about to bond with a PT.

On my 03 TE made in 01/03 it still had the 2nd connector, but when we got my wifes 03 DC2 made in 05/03 they had already dropped the 2nd connector, go figure [xx(]
