I am interested in adding the chrome spears that go below the doors.
I have researched them in catalogs. I understand they go on with the 3m tape. My questions are: Do they stay on well Is it easy to install Any suggestions before I put them on. Any suggestions or experience during installation that i should know Any hints on lining up the part properly to appear correctly Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. |

Mark......I added the Chrome Spears as well and it's an easy task. Not that I don't trust 3-M products, but I did add a small bead of "Liquid Nails" along the adhesive strip for that "just in case" scenario. [8D]
As far as lining-up the spears.....they're fitted to the trim and can only be pressed on in perfect position. I have checked the adhesion often and so far so good. ![]()

I installed mine a year ago using the stock 3M tape, with no problems. (the stock ones are held on with 3M tape) However I will warn you, the chrome ones will show water spots alot more than the painted ones ever did.

The trick to keeping them on is the prep. Make sure the
area where you are putting them on is clean. I use 3M adhesive & wax remover than alcohol.I put on the flat ones. Wifes car,I put the covers on a year ago and have had no problems.

Mark, first off, Welcome to the Forums!
I bought mine to install myself but they offered to install them so I let them. The tape is holding up well on the spears, however I put on grill accents and one has started to come off. Maybe it was my prep work as Jimbo noted. Happy Cruzin John [?]
