a PT customized like a 4X4?
If I ever win the lotto and have a chance to have some spare change I would like to dress mine up.Lots of nice ones out there but I'm thinking of raising suspension,knobbies,brushguard,roofrack w/lites,etc.....kinda like an old power wagon panel van.
Just dreaming,but what the heck,I can do anything in my dreams.
So howabout it,post up some pics if anyone runs across one with this concept.

4x4 Cruiser: The PT Cruiser rides on a platform derived from the current-generation Neon, which has not yet spawned an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Although PT Cruisers were seen running about Death Valley last year with an apparent 4x4 system, we suspect this may simply have been camouflaging another vehicle. Given the consumer desire for the safety of an all-wheel-drive vehicle, if such a variation was properly packaged, it could find market with the anti-SUV crowd.

Cool-not interested in a true 4X4 but mainly a dressed up "FAUX" 4X4

The whole point of customizing is to be different-so don't want to buy the same btg strut bar,lowering springs,door spears etc... that everyone else is getting,not a slam,but just have never seen one done this way.

With lift kit and knobby tires, and someone is selling a limited slip differential kit for the PT, you could have a decent light-duty off-roader.
Add a winch to the front end, and you're in business.

Go for it!

Of course if D-C is listening and wants my suggestion for how to make a 'factory' 4x4 PT, i would advise basing it on the Mitsu Evo. (visions of 270 hp factory PTs dancing in my head).

I did some "testing" of my Cruiser and got some pics. I think it would be a nice idea, but if you do it, you must paint it olive-green
