Default New PT Cruiser

Hi guy's!

I'm a new PT owner - 2004 Limited, 37 Miles on the odometer...

What are the recommended first mod's? I've read some of the posts here and a K&N air filter & synthetic oil are on the short list. Should I do those now, or wait 'till I break it in a little? I don't want to do anything to void the warranty (yet ), so what do y'all recommend?

Thanks...

Hmmm.....first mod..... Well, my first was hood struts, when you are cleaning/working/modding under the hood, nothing beats having hood struts. Now they have struts in factory colors too, or chrome.

Congrats on the new PT!

So is your Limited a Turbo Lite or N/A? Sort of changes your options you see.

No way those 2 can void the warranty. I gave mine a couple hundred miles before synthetic, but that was more because I couldn't stop driving it than anything else.
All mods are up to you - chrome? graphics? exhaust?
The main thing is, ENJOY.
Welcome to the Forum.

The Cruiser is a blank canvas. Do what you want.
I love chrome. No matter what you do ,it can't help but
look good.I changed my oil at 900 miles to mobil 1 and a
K&N filter.Put a K&N drop in filter in right away.
If you didn't get a rear spoiler I would look into
that. It's the first mood I put on myfirst Cruiser.
Happy Cruisen

Welcome Bezzell,
Your favorites list on your computer will be a lot longer and the UPS guy you will know by name. I'd enjoy it for awhile & get a grasp on the Mods you'll want to do, that way you will only pay once for the same Mod. Don't forget the search function alot of things have been talked about already and you can get ideas from them

For better sound, open the airbox and take out the white silencer at the top. A good visual mod that I like is a chrome grille overlay. It looks pretty good on a dark blue color

hood struts, hood struts, hood struts!!!
i know the temptation is there for the first mod to have the most bling or zing for the buck, but the peace of mind the struts will give you for the life of your car are worth every penny. and you can always get chrome or color matched ones to add under hood bling! i took my cruiser to a shop for its first oil change (upgrade to synthetic!), and left with speed holes (sorry, a simpsons reference) from the guy closing the hood without lowering the prop (this was a reputable shop that i had used before on other cars). thought it was a one in a million chance, then saw on this forum how many others had the same problem. the body shop actually tied an orange caution flag on the prop when they almost forgot to lower it after making the repair! they fixed it good as new, but the week without my cruiser was a long one! i had the stuts before they finished the repair, and had the body shop throw out the prop!
congrats on the new car, and whatever you do, just enjoy! [^]
