funny that i just got a chrysler email talking about pt cruisers, including a new customization feature coming soon! wonder if they read my post???? can't wait to see that!

sounds like we agree that chrysler needs to give people more value in their new cars (why cars like the new mazda 3 and most korean ones in this price are selling so well, lots of great equipment standard). and chrysler needs to give more value to the entire cruiser line, lots of people unhappy about trade in value and customer service. hope chrysler (and others) try thinking outside the box soon!

all gave some
some gave all

My issue is that the GT looks like every other PT.
Sans the wheels and close attention to the lower front fascia, it might as well be a classic edition PT.
Make the GT look like the 99 concept gt, then you can sell a stripped PT with a juiced engine.

That Scion coupe kicks ass...don't know how anyone could think it was ugly...it's maybe a little boring looking if anything!
The PT is a total love it or leave it car...I'd say 50-60 percent of people hate it so I personally take that comment that the scion is ugly with a ton of salt...

The price and comment was for the Xb that IS ugly, not the coupe. I believe the coupe costs more.

Yeah, some people think the PT is ugly, but about 3/4 of a million people have bought PTs.

As far as the Scion is concerned, it looks like they designed a rectangular box, and put 4 wheels on it. As far as "no options" on a PT ...air conditioning, power steering/brakes/windows, am/fm/cd...
Between the Scion and the Honda Element, I think someone was in a contest to design the ugliest car....

Of course, these are only my opinions.

one of the things that got me thinking about how to make the PT a more attractive option for especially younger kids was a comment i heard a week or so ago. walking to my cruiser, i overheard two teens talking about my car, their exact words were that the cruiser was "retarded!" they were talking about how it was ugly and slow when they saw me get in it and ran off before i could say anything. while i get lots of compliments, have to admit this is not the first negative thing i have heard. still think if you put the turbo motor in a cheap one, offer cool mods, show it off at high schools and colleges, it change that opinion.
as for the xB, it has been produced in Japan for years and is very popular, especially with the kids. i think it was originally made as a city cargo van, and kids started buying them for personal use and modding them...toyota was thinking it would happen here too, and from what i have seen they are right. see tons of them here, most with lots of mods. they have lots of space inside, come with lots of standard equipment for less than a cruiser, and have toyota's reputation behind it. i'm not a toyota fan, but think they are doing this right and perhaps others should follow the example?!?!
