I'm thinking of replacing my side mirrors on my '04 PT GT. I was considering using an '03 breakaway heated side mirror. Would these fit still? The only thing I can see that might be a problem is the mine are not heated, so would I still be able to easily wire the '03 breakaway mirrors and just not have the funcionality of the heated mirrors? Or is there a way I can wire it to make them heated?
I was also looking into the M3 side mirrors with the turn signal lights on the outside of the mirror. I have seen some photos of PTs with them, unfortunately, I don't know the model to use that could fit. Could anyone give me some info on that? |

To the best of my knowledge, there were no heated, breakaway mirrors in '03. That option was discontinued in '02.

The 01/02 mirrors will mount the same way as the later mirrors but they will not heat unless you add an additional wire through the door to the fuse box under the dash. I used an "Add-a-Fuse" and an under the dash mounted on/off switch to be able to activate the heater, but only for the driver side mirror, didn't have the nerve to run a wire through the dash for the passenger side. The hardest part of the whole thing was routing the wire through the rubber boot in the door jam. Good luck.

I replaced my '03 mirrors with early folding ones, just plug them in. The heat works fine, no extra wires. They heat with rear defroster.
