We had a little party with MINIs last weekend. It was fun! Our cars are headturners by themselves, but combined together we made it quite a show off
![]() I got to drive a Cooper S. My impression was that is was not as fast as my GT, but the acceleration is more smooth, without that kick that is given by the turbo boost. The owner guy gave me a ride to show how this car could handle the turns and I was very impressed (can't even think of doing this on my PT). We decided to have these parties on a regualr basis because we liked the atmosphere and the amount of attention we were getting May be next time we should invite VW bugs to have a nostalgic cars club meeting? ![]() More pictures here: http://forum.ptcruiserclub.ru/galler...s.php?album=13 |

Your on to something there Mojito. Has you said, both cars together definately draw attention. Sounds like you had fun and will continue it with the next get together.[?]

I have always felt like a Coopers & Cruisers Show would be nothing but the coolest. We are working on forming a Cooper Club in Prescott area...and then have both clubs hang out and cruise. It surely would turn some heads.

We would love something like that. We already have a GT and will be taking delivery of our 2005 Cooper S hopefully within the next week. Nothing better than having two cool Retro cars, huh?

Hey Mojito,
It's great to see the same love for cars in all parts of the world! As far as handling the PT can be made quite nimble with the installation of a few aftermarket parts. Lowering springs and sway bars make a big differance. Of course you can go to wider wheels and upgraded tires but its starts getting spendy at that point. Not sure how your rate of currency exchange would affect your pricing. How much does fuel cost in your part of the world? What speeds are you allowed to run on your highways? Deen

Deen, check some of Mojito's early posts. We had some discussions on octaine, Ltr's vs Gal's and prices a while back.
I got into a gagle of Mini's having a get together in Big Bear Lake, CA this week end. I think you could take any driver and passenger out of a Mini and put them in a PT and they would look the part.[?]

Privet, Mojito!
I didn't know there was a club in Moscow. I'm from Moscow, and now I'm in USA. I was just there last month in Moscow visiting family, and was very happy to see PT Cruisers on the streets. I just wish I know about your club before so we could meet. Maybe next time. Let's keep in touch OK? Oh, you can check photos of my PT at http://ptcruiserworld.tenmagazines.c...ry.ten?id=3531 I am with Monterey Bay PT Cruiser Club. Maybe I can also be member for your club? Natasha

Thanks everyone for your support. We will definitely continue these meetings because everyone loved it![^]
Deen, as JPMS GT mentioned, you could see the gas prices in my earlier posts. As far as the speed limits go, in the city it is limited to 60 km/h (37 mph), but in Moscow cops usually won't stop you if you go below 80 (50). Highways in Russia are virtually non-existent, since all major roads go through little towns and villages where there is 60 km/h speed limit. Quality of the roads is also a natural speed limiter. You wouldn't want to drive 160 mph on a road that has one or two lanes each way and occasional potholes. There are some nice highways around Moscow region where you can speed as fast as you want. They are developing, and I guess it will be some time until the old roads will be upgraded. In any event, if you get caught speeding you can always settle it with the cop on the spot for about 5$! [8] Privet, Natasha! Its a shame we couldn't meet when you were in Moscow, so next time you are here we should definitely meet. We only started our forum this summer, so our club is quite new. And of course you can be a member. In fact, with a car like yours you can be a privileged member! [?] Well keep in touch. See you in our forum ![]() www.ptcruiserclub.ru
