Default P 1684 & P 0455 Codes

Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. My check engine light came on and I found out through here how to get the codes, but I do not know what they mean. It rained here quite a bit the other day and I crossed a few deep water spots and maybe that caused something? I checked the gascap also and it is on tight. Thanks.

Hmmm, Not really. I have never disconnected the battery since I have owned it (3 months) and a large leak in the evaporation system?? What does that mean?

P1684 USED to mean the battery was disconnected. For the last few years, it's changed to a system readiness code. Not all of the drive cycles have passed, so the 1684 code will show up.
I've posted this about 1000 times on 8 forums over 4 years, but old data is hard to get updated.

P0455 is either a gross malfunction in the EVAP system, or you left the gas cap loose or refuelled without turning the ignition off while the EVAP self-test was running.

MX-5,
Sorry I took out a list I had printed up from the Chrysler site along time ago.

No problem Gonzo,

It's just that the old info is still floating around the 'net with no corporate supervision.
