Default Living with a PT convertible

I'm thinking about getting a PT convertible and I'm looking for some feedback on what it's like to live with.

A couple of concerns I have are:

1) Rearward visibility: My partner is quite short and she has trouble with my current vehicle a ford escape as she finds the head rests always in the way, so I'm concerned about the head rests and the folded top and boot being in the way. It appears that the folded top sits very high.

2) Luggage space: It appears that ducking under the trunk lid to access the small space to be a pain in the neck.

3) Top leaking: Has anyone had a problem with the water leaks?

Dalma,
welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your new car. Just a suggestion. I would post this in the Convertible section. Also you might want to do a search there as well of past post this can kind of give you a better idea of a list of problems. Again welcome

Dalma
Welcome. I have owned the convertible for 6 months.

(1) Yes the rear headrests and convertible top are high enough that they could get in the way for a driver that is short.

(2) You do have to duck to get all the way into the trunk. I have gotten a lump or two when i was in a hurry.

(3) Never seen a drop of water in the car because of the top. And this is coming from a person in Florida waiting for hurricane #4 to go over the house.

Man, this hurricane did dump a ton of rain, if your top doesn't leak in this, it never will.

How did you make out Steve? The TampaBay PT Club server seems to be down, so I haven't talked to anyone yet. Our cable and ISP connection just came back on.

We came out ok. Some roof damage, damage to our solar hot water system and fence if leaning over pretty hard. But again 8+ inches of rain and not a drop in the car.

Hey Dalma, I have had my ragtop for 5 months and have the same comments as westgate. In the first 4 weeks I put 3 small dings in the back because of the visability issue. Since then I have learned to be more careful when I backup. I don't find the visability to be a problem when I'm driving just backing up. I installed a full size "objects are smaller than they appear" mirror on the drivers side and that really helps a lot.

What I did was to go to a glass shop and buy a passenger side mirror from a pickup truck and have it cut the same size as my dirvers side mirror and had it glued on. I have done this with both of my PTs and also my Durango. Can't figure why the factory doesn't do it.

Other than the visablity thing I love my ragtop.
