More Block party info
It was a long day, I only went on one ride in the park (which I regrete) I spent all day talking to people and promoting our club. I even put fliers on 100 cars (with IL plates) in the remote lot. Chrysler had a drap strip set up, you could take out a cross fire or a GT Turbo. I tried the crossfire, I almost drive through the cones at the ned of the track, I had no warning when too slow down, so I melted the tires to a stop. The other thing they had was a test track where anyone could drive with a stunt or pro driver as he raced around corners and hair pin turns. I didn't go on that one, I drive like that already, so I know how that feels. When I went in the park, I had a friend from our club watch my car. I was shocked what he told me when I got back. He saw a family of five opening my doors, and climbing in my car, and he quickly told them to remove their bodies from the vehicle. It seems Chrylser told people they could get in and out of THEIR cars on display, so people just thought ALL the cars were up for grabs. Because of that, most owners stayed near their car. Frpm what I was told, this block party did not draw anywhere near the one of two years ago did. That one was free, hmmm, what does that tell you. Gary
